Ramp Rewind

It’s been an exciting couple of weeks at Ramp. We’ve made a few major announcements, received industry recognition and signed a number of new clients, so it’s time for a Ramp Rewind.

But before I talk about Ramp Rewind, I want to acknowledge how much the world has changed during the same period of time. We’ve seen the best and the worst of humankind.

Like you, I’ve experienced a range of emotions from fear and hope, to pain and anger. We’ve gone from seeing huge waves of kindness amidst a pandemic to tidal waves of anguish over racial injustice.

As a company, Ramp stands with all victims of discrimination, racism and injustice. We are conscious there is a lot of work we need to do, but we are committed to doing everything we can as a company to create an inclusive society.

And although news headlines have changed, we are keenly aware we are still fighting a global pandemic. We continue to hope for healing and remain thankful to everyone working overtime to keep us healthy and safe, and find a vaccine.

Ramp Rewind

It was honestly hard for me to write this blog. It seems superficial in a time when other issues are more important. But I am proud to work with an amazing group of professionals, so it’s important to take the time to express my gratitude for my colleagues and acknowledge the work we’re doing.

While we haven’t been able to work together, we’ve been working harder than ever to make sure our customers can deliver unlimited, high-quality streaming video to everyone in their organization.

We’ve also had a lot of fun along the way. Although we aren’t able to get together in a conference room or go out for lunch, we have committed to as much “face-to-face” interaction as possible.

We are using video for every meeting. As a result, we’re getting to know one another in a whole new way. We’ve met family members and pets, and had fun with virtual video backdrops. Like Elmo, the Millennium Falcon Cockpit, football stadiums and vacation photos.

Now to highlight some of our successes…

TMC Labs INTERNET TELEPHONY Innovation Award

Over the past few months, the product and engineering teams have worked hard to improve our core solutions, Multicast+ and OmniCache. They have used customer feedback to add new functionality, make adjustments and improve the overall experience.

And recently, TMC, a global, integrated media company, awarded Ramp eCDN as a 2020 TMC Labs INTERNET TELEPHONY Innovation Award winner presented by INTERNET TELEPHONY magazine. This award recognizes products that display innovation, unique features, and significant contributions toward improving communications technology.

We are honored to have an independent third-party recognize the strength of our flagship solutions. It’s a testament to the hard work our teams put in day in and day out.

Denise Iverson Named to CRN’s 2020 Women of the Channel

I am honored to work with this amazing woman. Denise Iverson is Ramp’s Vice President of Marketing, and she was recently named to CRN’s 2020 Women of the Channel.

New Peer-to-Peer Networking Solution

On May 19, we added to our portfolio of award-winning (see above) enterprise content delivery network solutions. We formally introduced vendor-neutral peer-to-peer networking solutions to our eCDN line up, making Ramp the eCDN for all.

Ramp: eCDN for All

What do I mean by eCDN for all? Well, we have a video distribution solution for any circumstance. Regardless of network, use case or streaming platform, we’ve got you covered. Ramp is the only eCDN provider who can offer multicast, video cache and P2P. Depending on your network and needs, you can choose one or any combination of the three.

This was a cross-functional effort involving people from across our organization. It’d be too many people to list. Three cheers for peer-to-peer!

New Partnerships

Along with our Peer-to-Peer eCDN, we also added two new partnerships (with more on the way!). Our partners are an extended part of the Ramp family whether our solution is directly integrated with theirs or they resell our products. Recent additions to the Ramp partner ecosystem include New Spark Media and StriveCast.

New Spark Media

As a Ramp eCDN reseller, New Spark Media is making it easy to buy, deploy and manage streaming video for the enterprise. Recognizing the challenge of purchasing best-of-breed solutions, New Spark Media brings together Brightcove’s video content management solution, Ramp eCDN and additional services to take the guesswork out of buying and implementing enterprise streaming video.

StriveCast

Through our partnership with StriveCast, Ramp now offers both on-premises and could-based WebRTC P2P networking. Like Ramp, they’re committed to delivering secure, vendor-neutral video distribution solutions to solve network congestion created by streaming video.

rampecdn.com

You might not have even realized it, but we have a new domain too!

At Ramp, we’ve always been focused on enterprise video distribution. Now, we’re doubling down. We’ve expanded our lineup of eCDN solutions to be the first and only to offer all three—multicasting, video caching and peer-to-peer (P2P) networking.

As a result, we’ve also changed our domain to rampecdn.com. Let’s just say this is our not-so-subtle way of saying we are the eCDN for all (see above).

I guess that makes me a member of the best eCDN marketing team in the world. Awesome job, team!
